*Insurers use information from third party databases to prevent fraudulent claims and to assess whether to offer insurance including terms via the Claims and Underwriting Exchange Register, operated by the Insurance Database Services Ltd and the Motor Insurance Anti Fraud and Theft Register operated by the Association of British Insurers and via Callcredit database operated by Insurance Initiatives Limited. Lists of participants are available on request. In dealing with your application, the registers may be searched. In the event of a claim, the information relating to a claim will be put on the register and made available to participants. To make sure you get the best offer from insurers and to protect their customers from fraud and to verify your identity, they may use publicly available data which they obtain from a variety of sources including a credit referencing agency and other external organisations.
