Commercial Vehicle Show ‘will help van insurance customers’

The forthcoming Commercial Vehicle Operator Show is set to be an ideal platform for van insurance customers on which they will benefit from an increased focus on vehicle maintenance and fleet logistics.

At least that is the opinion of the Society of Operations Engineers, which has claimed that there is currently a gap in the industry for a show which enables exhibitors to present a wide range of products and services.

The society’s chief executive Nick Jones commented: “This industry needs a business-to-business show to cater for professional transport operators’ wide-ranging needs and the Commercial Vehicle Operator Show will do exactly that.”

Indeed, the show, which is scheduled to take place in Birmingham’s NEC arena in spring 2010, has also been hailed by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), as well as the Road Haulage Association as a positive event on the industry’s calendar.

Meanwhile, recent figures from the SMMT revealed that van operators are less willing to return to the new commercial vehicle market, opting instead to buy second-hand models.
