“Plentiful” storage space and a UK manufacturing connection have led to a Nissan model picking up a prestigious van maker award.
The Primastar has picked up the best medium van title at the 2008 Van Fleet World awards, announced last week.
To pick up the accolade, the model had to impress a panel made up of journalists and fleet industry experts.
Van Fleet World editor John Kendall said of the Primastar: “Inside drivers are well catered for, storage space is plentiful, and the driving position is still one of the best.”
He added the model also won praise for fine standards of balance and handling when empty or fully loaded.
Finally, judges commended Nissan for ensuring most Primastars are built at a plant in Luton, in a move branded as “good news” for British motor manufacturing.
Van insurance customers could also be interested in the Primastar’s broad range of body styles and starting price of £13,975 excluding VAT.
Nissan also produces the Interstar, Cabstar and Kubistar light commercial vehicle models.
