Peugeot’s light commercial vehicle arm is bucking the trend in a market which appears to be slowing, according to the firm.
Sales of its vans were up 65 per cent in June thanks in part to the company’s launch of new Bipper and Partner models.
Peugeot also said its own van market was up 15.9 per cent when the overall sector was reporting growth of just 0.2 per cent.
A company statement read: “The Bipper achieved 482 registrations in its first month on sale, making it the star of a trio, outselling both its sister vehicles the Citroen Nemo and Fiat Fiorino.”
Van drivers buying the firm’s new models could then go online to pick up a good deal on van insurance policies to cover their new purchases.
The Peugeot Bipper picked up the Best New Van of the Year title from Van Fleet World, just over two weeks before it was officially released in June.
The company’s new Partner van range has recently seen the introduction of a second petrol version powered by a 1.6-litre 16v 90bhp engine.
